The Challenge
A major shoe distributor struggled with carrying samples to their sales demonstrations. Their display bag was akward and the product was getting damaged. They required a case solution that was lightweight, durable, economical, checked on airlines, and most importantly allowed for a professional presentation.
The Response
Source was provided a variety of samples, styles and sizes that represented the various shoes to be displayed. These samples allowed our designers to develop the optimal solution. The Source sales and design team developed two different concepts for our customer. The first idea was a custom hard case and the other was a semi rigid soft sided case with a partitioned interior.
The Solution and Results
The customer choose the soft sided case solution. Due to the weight of the shoes, the case is mounted on four casters for easy transport with a web handle or pull handle option. The open case displays 8 pair of shoes on each side of the case. A protective flap of material is sewn into each cavity and is wrapped around the sample shoe for added protection.

The case is a huge hit with the sales force. The case is constantly being upgraded to meet the changing demands of the sales people and is much sturdier than its predecessor. Our engineer team has made modifications to reinforce handles and partitions to account for the additional weight the sales people need to put in the case as the product line expands. The zipper has been upgraded and we added the customer logo to promote their corporate identity.
