A Letter from the President: Cases By Source Gives Back
As the year comes to a close, I have taken some time to reflect on what has been a momentous year for so many of us. Good, bad and ugly, what I have learned from 2009 is that I am incredibly fortunate to continue to run my business and do what I love.
I am also grateful for the support of my hard-working and dedicated staff and for their commitment to Source’s mission and vision. Together, we strive to strengthen our brand’s message and deliver excellence.
Most of all, I am grateful for each of you. Without our loyal customers, we would not be able to grow our organization or introduce new value-added products and services. So in the spirit of the season and in your honor, Cases By Source will be making a donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. For almost 30 years, the Make-A-Wish Foundation has enriched the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work. Since granting their first wish in 1980 for a little boy who wanted to become a police officer, the organization has reached more than 174,000 children around the world, and grants a wish in the U.S. every 40 minutes.
At Source, we are not only passionate about what we do, but we are also passionate about helping others. Now more than ever, it is important to give back and remember that no matter how bad things seem around us, there is always a light at the end of even the darkest tunnel.
 We are proud and honored to support the work of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and, in 2010, we plan to roll out a corporate program whereby we will continue to support charities and causes that affect us—globally, locally and personally. We hope our efforts will inspire others.

Product Spotlight: Welded Aluminum Cases
Made in the USA with sustainable resources, rugged welded aluminum cases are built to perform. Perfect for military and defense applications, these water and impact-resistant cases will not distort or soften in high temperatures. When a serious impact has occurred, molded corner  features resist crushing and help distribute energy throughout the case exterior with little or no adverse affect.
Aluminum cases are better able to handle weight than their plastic counterparts. Aluminum also has a longer lifespan and higher scrap-value for recyclability. The metal is lightweight, corrosion and water-vapor resistant, impervious to the effects of UV rays and does not build up static electricity as a plastic case might.
One of the biggest advantages of welded aluminum cases is that— where uniquely-sized molded plastic containers require custom tooling— we can manufacture welded aluminum containers to any size, with a variety of hardware options based on your  requirements. Recently, we worked with a customer who inquired about a plastic case that would have necessitated a $22,000 custom molding tool. As a more cost-effective alternative, we detailed the advantages of our aluminum containers and re-engineered the product into an aluminum case for design charges that totaled only $975—a savings of $21,025. The icing on the cake? The unit price for the aluminum case came in at $75 less than the plastic counterpart the client originally considered.

- Lockable latches compatible with standard military 200 series padlock (on some models)

- Reinforced and fully-welded corners with reinforced stacking features on base and lid
- Powder-coated finish / standard colors include: Olive Drab, Desert Tan, black or white
- Custom colors available
- Custom foam interiors/inserts available
- Built to meet or exceed some MIL-STD and ASTM requirements for shock, vibration, impact and water-resistance
